Rescue & Foster care — Giving Dogs a Second Chance

Rescue work is a big part of my daily life. In collaboration with Rescue Paws Curaçao, I help dogs who have been abandoned, found on the streets or are otherwise in need of a safe place and a second chance.

Some dogs arrive hungry, frightened, injured or unwell. Others need time to adjust to life away from the streets and learn that people can be trusted. Rescue is not just about getting a dog out of a difficult situation; it is also about everything that comes afterwards.

Through foster care, daily attention and veterinary support when needed, I help dogs recover and prepare for their next chapter. Every dog progresses differently, and I believe in giving them the time and patience they need rather than expecting them to adjust overnight.

Whenever possible, the goal is to help them find a suitable forever home where they can continue to grow and thrive.

Rescue work can be challenging, but seeing a dog regain confidence, discover their personality and eventually find a loving home makes every step worthwhile.

Senior & Hospice Care — Comfort, Dignity & Love

Not every dog has the same opportunities in life. Older dogs, dogs with ongoing medical needs and those approaching the end of their lives can be especially difficult to rehome or find appropriate care for.

I provide dedicated care for senior and hospice dogs who need a little extra support. Some need a quieter environment, help with their daily routine or special food and medication. Others simply need a safe, comfortable place where they can enjoy the time they have left.

For hospice dogs, the focus is on comfort, dignity and quality of life. Whether they have days, weeks or months remaining, they deserve to feel safe, receive appropriate care and experience kindness right until the end.

These dogs are not forgotten because they are old, unwell or considered difficult to place. Their needs and comfort matter just as much as those of any other dog.

Providing this care can be emotionally demanding, but every senior and hospice dog deserves the chance to experience comfort, security and love.

Rescue & Emigration — From Curaçao to a New Beginning

Have you fallen in love with a street dog during your holiday in Curaçao? You're certainly not the only one.

Sometimes, a chance encounter turns into a connection that you'd never want to leave behind. But taking a dog from Curaçao to another country involves more than simply booking a flight.

I can help get a dog off the streets and into a safer environment, arrange the care they need and assist with the steps involved in travelling to their new home abroad. This includes guidance with the emigration process and the arrangements needed to help the dog travel safely.

Every situation is different, and the process depends on the dog's circumstances and destination country. Having support along the way can make an overwhelming process much easier to navigate.

If you've met a dog in Curaçao and want to give them a future with you, I'll help you understand the options and work towards making that possible.

How You Can Help

Caring for rescue dogs, foster dogs, seniors and hospice dogs comes with ongoing costs, from food and everyday supplies to veterinary treatment and medication.

As an independent, small-scale initiative, I rely on the kindness of people who want to make a difference. There are ways to help even if you cannot adopt or foster a dog yourself.

You can support a specific dog through the Virtual Dog Parent programme, helping with the costs of their ongoing care while following their individual journey. You can also make a general donation to help cover the needs of the dogs in my care.
